We have seen Kim Moberg perform "The Seven Fires Prophecy: Suite for Humanity" with a full band, June 5 of this year at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. Today's one hour presentation is the stripped down 2-woman version of that program with Kim on guitar and her frequent colleague, Heather Swanson, on fiddle, who, by the way, is trained as a classical musician. The Seven Fires Prophecy tells the ancient Anishinaabe legend of encounters of the indigenous people with the white settlers. The program also includes a short video explaining the cover art of the album. Since the Mashpee Library is a 15 minute drive from our house, we couldn't possibly miss the chance to listen to these two talented musicians interpret this series of beautiful songs in a more acoustic setting. Bravo to the Mashpee Library for hosting this concert and the others that are on the upcoming schedule.
