Review

Got the concert going year off on the right foot with a one-hour afternoon concert in a library. These four talented local musicians presented a program with some country, a bit of jazz, and a big helping of rock 'n roll. There were some creative instrumentals included. I particularly enjoyed the rockier end of things in the form of the Dire Straits and Paul Simon covers, but the songs were all good and it was a well chosen set list. I think the bluesy Beatles cover was interesting but would have been better with the vocal included. But their imaginative side was on display with the theme from The Godfather done as a surf instrumental, and the wide variety of songs you might not have heard in a fairly long time.

Lead singer and guitarist Donn Legge clearly was enjoying what he was doing and sure was good at it, as were his band mates, who included Kareem Sanjaghi, who we've seen several times now drumming for Zoë Lewis. Keyboard player Peter Mann only sits in occasionally but added a lot to the sound. Thanks to the Wellfleet Library for sponsoring this ongoing series of free concerts -- and for giving the happy concert goers the chance to donate to the "appreciation basket" on the way out!
